Which Insights® Discovery workshop is right for you?
Here at Tree Trunk Partners, we run Insights® Discovery workshops for team building, team communication, leaders, virtual collaboration and individuals. In this article, we’ll be explaining the differences between each workshop process to help you decide which is best suited to your needs. Team Building
This full-day session provides the tools for team members to deal constructively with tensions that can arise in a work environment. Strong teams demonstrate effective collaboration and are the foundation of high performing organizations. We use practical interactive exercises and role plays to get the whole group involved. These can be applied to real-life scenarios so you will also have the opportunity to work through personal examples in this guided space.
Insights Discovery Team Wheel
You’ll gain an understanding of your own and your colleagues’ colour energies using the Insights psychometric tool. Using the Insights Discovery Team Wheel, we will learn how to maximize collaborative teamwork using each person’s colour energy preferences.
We recommend this workshop for groups who are seeking a full day session focused on strengthening team dynamics and gaining a deeper understanding of how best to work together.
Team Communication
This is a half-day session which can be conducted in person or virtually. We focus on how to foster more effective teamwork both within an organization but also when working with external partners. We have facilitated discussions surrounding how to transfer these learnings to real-life business examples after the workshop. It’s important to us that the coaching isn’t abstract and provides long term value to the team.
Within the Insights Discovery profile results, we pay particular attention to each individual’s communication style and how those of different colour energies can best collaborate. We look briefly at the Insights Discovery Team Wheel.
A Tree Trunk Partners training session
We recommend this workshop for teams who want a first look at Insights Discovery. If you want to learn more before committing to further team development, or have time constraints, this half-day workshop is a great place to start.
The key difference between Team Communication and Team Building is the workshop length. We find that groups may request further training after getting a feel for Insights Discovery during the half-day Team Communication workshop.
Leaders
Our two-day leadership program is customized for you and focuses on improving individuals’ leadership styles. Both days involve group exercises, role plays and time for personal reflection too. You’ll learn how your leadership style affects others and how you can adapt it to suit varied workplace scenarios.
Managing partners: David and Hartmut
Both of our managing partners, David and Hartmut, have many years experience in high pressure leadership roles within world-leading companies. They draw on their experience, alongside the Insights Discovery tool, to provide a comprehensive workshop itinerary.
We recommend this workshop for a small group of leaders – of any level – within the same company. Please note that leadership is not the same as management; a leader can be anyone whose role involves inspiring and motivating others within an organization.
Interactive group exercises

Virtual Collaboration
This is a one-day program aimed at teams who work together remotely. Whilst a connected world brings many benefits, there’s no doubt that it’s harder to establish strong coworking relationships with people you’ve only met over a screen.
The goal is for participants to understand each team members’ approach to work using the Insights Discovery tool. We will discuss how to adapt our default communication styles when interacting with a colleague who has a preference for a colour energy different to our own. This provides a better groundwork for cohesive collaboration. The day includes interactive exercises and real-life examples specific to remote working.
We recommend this workshop for teams where the majority of colleagues work 100% remotely.
Individuals
Our one-to-one consults can be in person or online. These may be suited to someone who is self-employed or runs their own small business and wants to better understand how they come across to clients, investors or anybody they interact with professionally.
Insights Discovery profile reflection
You’ll participate in interactive exercises and learn about the psychology behind your Insights Discovery profile. The report offers an in-depth breakdown of your colour energy preferences which help you understand how you perceive, interpret, and react to situations. This can be used to increase productivity and performance at work, as well as to assist in communication skills.
We recommend this workshop for those who are self-employed, run their own small business, are seeking a new career or are in the process of interviewing for employment.
